Costume....

September 29, 2009
This weekend I excelled myself with the odd behaviour that has resulted in my resolutely single status..

Yes ladies it was the Jane Austen Festival... and what a treat the people of Bath had, to see me dressed in my finest bonnet - yes, you read that correctly - and regency costume.. complete with ringlets!

Not only did I dress up and fully take part in this amazing festival - I was accompanied by my family and also had the MOST ingenious idea of sending a picture of myself dressed in my finery to a 'male suitor'. I think I could probably have pinpointed the time when he decided I wasn't quite the right girl for him..

My wonderful weekend was topped off by a 'promenade' and a walking tour of bath... what a rock and roll weekend I had..
No wonder I'm single...

Size matters

So...

I have a friend... who went on a blind date...

As usual for a woman she wanted to look good - first date and all that. Some preliminary facebook stalking had been done before hand and she knew that the guy was good looking, had spoken to him, so knew they got on.. so understandably she was quite hopeful.

After a lot of clothes being thrown around she settled on a cute dress and more importantly (for this story) some heels.

She looked GORGEOUS... unfortunately she spent the whole night s...

Mr Darcy

September 14, 2009

I have booked in to go to the Jane Austen festival in Bath in a couple of weeks. I'll be dressed in period costume promenading around Bath with my parents and my sister - I kid you not. I decided to tell this illuminating fact to a guy who I think was considering asking me on a date.. he hasn't since.

Again I find myself thinking the usual..

No wonder I'm single...

Surely at some point I'll meet my Mr Darcy? Then saying that - I'm not sure I'd date a guy who went to the Jane Austen festival....

About Me

I'm a twenty something woman, living in the UK. I have a job, I'm relatively good looking, I can cook and I like to think I have a good sense of humour... and yet - I'm single. Don't get me wrong - I love being single and having my freedom - but sometimes I'm amazed by the things I say and do both in day to day life and in my encounters with men.. and when I say amazed I don't mean in a good way.

About Him

I'm a twenty something guy, living in the USA. I am a medical student, I'm pretty attractive (although my friends often tell me there are other attractive men out there, apparently), I'm fun and have a great sense of humour, I can cook better than almost every girl I've met, and I have a decent fashion sense - for a guy. However, I'm single. I've been told this may have something to do with my lack of patience, a certain egocentric streak, my often acerbic humour, or a penchant for getting drunk at inappropriate times or to an inappropriate degree when the occasion is acceptable. Perhaps all of the above.
